Vianode marked the opening of its full scale plant Via ONE at Herøya, with over 150 guests, including Energy Minister Terje Aasland.
Groundbreaking
The facility is a customer verification plant and technology centre. Vianode’s groundbreaking technology enables high-performance synthetic anode graphite, reducing CO₂ emissions by 90% compared to competitors. Via One is the world's most sustainable anode graphite plant for batteries.
Ambitions for growth
By 2030, they aim to produce 200,000 tonnes of battery materials annually, enough for 3 million electric vehicles. The government emphasised that this development strengthens Norway’s position as a global leader in battery technology while creating jobs and promoting sustainability.
