The rehabilitation of Building 125 at Herøya Industrial Park is now well underway. The building, which has served various functions and housed several tenants over the years, is currently being adapted to meet the needs of a new occupant.
New life for an older building
Building 125 was constructed in the 1960s and was originally used as an auxiliary materials store and welfare facility for the magnesium organisation. Since then, the building has had a range of different users. It is now undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation, with modern technology and customised solutions set to bring new life to the premises.
Herøya Industripark AS is the owner and developer of the project. Consto is serving as the main contractor, while Consolvo is responsible for concrete rehabilitation. All four façades will be refurbished, and the building will be given a more contemporary appearance with new sandwich panels as exterior cladding.
Thor Medical requires more space
Sissel Nybro, Manager of Projects at Herøya Industripark AS, is closely following the development.
She highlights the importance of the upgrade: “This is a key project both for us and for our tenant, Thor Medical. Building 125 is now receiving a substantial upgrade, with solutions that meet today’s requirements for functionality and appearance. We look forward to completing the rehabilitation by spring.”
Once finished, the building will present an entirely new look, tailored to new activities and modern industrial requirements.
