Happy summer from us building a new plant at Herøya!

The Vianode team is fully engaged in constructing a new plant to produce sustainable battery materials at Herøya.

Now Vianode is in full swing constructing the new plant for battery materials at Herøya.

"It's great to be underway with building a new plant," says the super cheerful Øyvind Haugerøy from Vianode. He will be the maintenance manager when the production plant starts operating next year.

Newly employed staff members are involved in the construction

Around 30 newly employed staff members, including operational personnel, operators, maintenance, and administration, are already on board.

"It's a significant advantage that several members of the maintenance department and operators are involved in building the plant alongside the project organisation," says Haugerøy.

100 employees when operational

The Vianode team at Herøya currently consists of around 40 people.

"When we start operating, we will probably have around 100 employees here," says Haugerøy. "We have mechanics, electricians, and automation specialists all ready to go, and we will hire more operators in the new year."

Installing process equipment

They are now in an intensive construction period.

"We have started installing the process equipment that will be placed in the plant in the building we are leasing from Herøya Industripark. It will be an intense construction period ahead, but at least we are thrilled to be underway," says the cheerful maintenance manager.

Will you have a holiday this summer?

"Yes, but there will be ongoing activities throughout the summer," he says.
