Change of management at RHI Normag - factory in full production
RHI Normag AS has appointed Trym E. Hansen as its new Managing Director from 1 September. At the same time, RHI reports that the Herøya factory is now in full production.
Trym E. Hansen (photo) was educated at the Norwegian School of Management (BI), and has extensive managerial experience from multinational companies. His last position was as Director of Finance and Board member at NLI Subsea Group. Roger Gravdal, the former Director of RHI Normag, has chosen to leave the company in order to further his career outside RHI.
RHI Normag has faced a number of technical challenges over the past few months, but these have now been resolved and the factory, which began operating last year, is now in full production with ten furnaces.
More than 10 000 tonnes of high-quality fused magnesia (molten, crystallised magnesium oxide) has been exported to European manufacturers of fireproof material over the last couple of weeks. The factory at Herøya will also be exporting to manufacturers in Mexico in the near future.
